Traveling with Twain

In Search of America's Identity

Cartoonist Michael Kupperman becomes Mark Twain in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park

We met with Michael Kupperman in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on a windy New York day. Kupperman is an American cartoonist and humorist whose work has appeared in The New Yorker. His most recent book Mark Twain’s Autobiography: 1910 – 2010 chronicles Twain’s improbable adventures in the 20th Century following his reported death in 1910. In this video clip, Kupperman performs his Mark Twain impersonation, sans fake mustache, wig and eyebrows.
